In 1937 Reichshauptstadt Berlin, the capital of Nazi Germany marked its 700th year of existence. Many events were organized and many souvenirs were produced to mark the important historic event.

The official 700 Jahre Berlin color Festpostkarte measures 4-1//8 x 5-7/8 inches and is beautifully printed with gold colored ink (Goldschrift). The front side has the different Wappen or coat of arms of the city through the ages as well as a swastika. It was never mailed and has a blank back. Fine condition.

The 5-7/8 x 8-1/8 inch, 32 page illustrated book 700 Jahre Berlin by Hans Gratzow was produced by order of the City Administration of Berlin especially for the 700th anniversary. It covers the founding of the city, its history, life in the Middle Ages, the Kurfürst era, industrial changes in the 19th century and of course the developments in the capital city during the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler. Very good condition.

The third piece of the grouping is a 7 x 11 inch, two-sided cotton automobile fender pennant produced for the 700th anniversary year and the "Berliner Bear" coat of arms of the city in the year 1937. There is some wear to the embroidery on the pennant from rubbing on the inside of the clear plastic housing that was used to keep such pennants out of the weather while flapping on a car fender.

All three pieces in this lot are 100% original to the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler.
