TWO LOTS OF CONFIDENTIAL WORLD WAR II
JUNKERS FACTORY MANUALS

These two books come from the library at the headquarters of Junkers Aircraft Manufacturing Company in Dessau. These books were NEVER intended for any sort of general distribution or circulation beyond the Directors and Management Personnel who attended the “Director Conferences” at which the information in them was originally presented.

The first book is from August 1944 when the war was almost over, and the second is from 1934.

LOT 1: UNTERLAGEN ZUR KONSTRUKTION
UND BEMESSUNG VON HOLZFLUGZEUGEN
(DATA REGARDING CONSTRUCTION AND
EVALUATION OF WOODEN AIRCRAFT)

A spectacular find, this 8-1/4 x 11-1/2 inch, 100+ (unnumbered) page softcover draft is dated "Dessau August 1944” and signed by four members of the Versuchsabteilung (Research Department). This was of course very late in the war but the text traces research back to the composite Ju 252 testing in the fall of 1942.

This book is divided into six sections:
I: Combining Wood with Metal in Assemblies,
II: Tensile Strength,
III: Evaluation of the Braking Strength of Spars,
IV: Evaluation of Wooden Skin,
V: Fasteneres,
VI: Protecting the Wooden Skin.

With many technical graphs, charts and photographs. There are some pencil notations by engineers on some charts and drawings.

This is an 8-3/8 x 11-1/2 inch, 66 page Junkers library copy of the CINA Specifications and Requirements for air worthiness acceptance of aircraft of all classes updated to July 1934.

Fascinating material from one of the most important historical international aviation libraries of the 20th century. Very good condition.

PLEASE NOTE: this material was NOT “captured” or stolen by some American GI as is often alleged by Germans who take a look at this website. We sought out and purchased this material on the open market in Germany where there is no recognition of its historical value or any sort of regulation regarding its sale and export.
