This is a very nice original example of the 4-¾ x 6-½ inch 56-page softcover Nazi songbook called Die Fahne Hoch! Das neue Liederbuch der deutschen Jugend (Hold High the Flag! The New Song Book of the German Youth). While the first song is Deutschland, Deutschland über Alles, the second song is the Horst Wessel Lied which starts with the lyrics Die Fahne Hoch!, the title of this rare early Nazi songbook.
Published in 1933 by Jugendzeitschriften-Verlag Heinrich Beenken in Berlin, this example of Die Fahne Hoch! is complete with the frequently torn out illustration of Adolf Hitler on page 5 (as well as illustrations of Prussian King Frederick the Great, Prussian General Blücher and President Hindenburg). There are musical notes and lyrics to 40 different German classics such as Deutschland, Deutschland über Alles, Horst Wessel Lied, Wohlauf Soldaten, Flamme Empor, Saarlied, Hindenburglied, Argonnerwald, Ich bin ein Preuße, Hoch flattern Hitlerfahnen, etc.
No writing except for the pencil marks on the index page, the last page of the book - see photo right. Very nice condition, no odor.
