| Billed as a “Pro-American Rally” by the German-American Bund, the George Washington birthday bash was dubbed an anti-Semitic “pro-Nazi rally” by America’s media. This 6-1/4 x 9-1/2 inch size, 32-page softcover booklet has a color cover and contains scores of ads from all sorts of businesses (from furniture dealers to bars to barbers). Many of the advertisers stressed their German-ness. There is a unique half-page ad for the German-American Bund’s Camp Nordland at Andover, New Jersey. |
