There was no more important magazine circulated in Nazi Germany than Der Hoheitsträger (The Standard Bearers). It was published during the Third Reich for distribution to Gauleiters, Kreisleiters and other high officials of the Nazi Party and its paramilitary organizations such as Generals of the SS, SA, NSFK, NSKK, etc. It was circulated to the Commandant and a select group of Officers at each of the Ordensburgen and to the highest ranking people in the Hitler Youth, Reichsarbeitsdienst, Deutsche Arbeitsfront, etc. (see distribution list below), people responsible for the entire “political appearance of the Nazi Movement” within their zones (Gau, Kreis, Ortsgruppe, etc.); people representing the Nazi Party at institutions that were responsible for setting the right example and behavior, maintaining discipline and order, as well as people supervising all party members in their spheres of responsibility.
Each 9 x 12-5/8 inch issue of Der Hoheitsträger contained very sensitive information about how to make the Nazi Party look better to the press and the public, in Nazi ceremonies, Nazi organization, foreign news, book reviews and even a critique of the Nazi Party members themselves. This hard-core and controversial information was never intended for general circulation within the Nazi Party or in public and the word Vertraulich or Confidential was printed at the bottom of most of the pages!
For sale on this USMBOOKS web page is a very rare 100% original Third Reich Sammelmappe or binder to file Der Hoheitsträger magazines for the year 1939.
The 9-½ x 13-½ inch tan linen hardcover binder has the name of the magazine embossed on the front cover next to the Nazi eagle and swastika at the top of a column image that appeared on the covers of the actual magazines. The spine has a Nazi eagle and swastika above the words Der Hoheitsträger and the year 1939.
This rare original 84 year old Sammelmappe for 1939 Nazi Party Hoheitsträger magazines is in nice used condition and has no odor. As is obvious in our picture at the top of this USMBOOKS web page, the black lettering is flaked or worn off the eagle and swastika on the front cover and spine.
The Sammelmappe comes with several original Third Reich magazine dividers and a Gebrauchsanweisung or instructions on how to correctly file Der Hoheitsträger magazines in this binder. This instruction sheet is a copy of a Third Reich original to which we have added English language instructions. We do not have the original 2-inch long metal binder posts, but any good hardware store often does.
