This is an authentic 20 x 27-1/2 inch Third Reich era print of a painting called Torpedoboot im Dock done by superb German maritime painter Fritz W. Schulz (1884-1962) of Berlin. The print was commissioned by the Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine and printed in eight colors by Wilhelm Limpert Verlag of Berlin, Germany during World War II.
The picture shows a torpedo boat in drydock. The ship is being repaired so it can be returned to duty between the North Pole and the Bay of Biscay. This is an example of the sort of prints that would be found in offices, mess halls, schools and even aboard ships of the Kriegsmarine during the Third Reich. This is one of only three that we have ever been able to obtain.
The print was never framed and the colors are still bright and vibrant. The white border has a small amount of dust on it but it came right off in the spot we tried with a Tombow Mono plastic eraser. A perfect companion piece to any collection of Kriegsmarine material. Will be sent rolled in a triangular shaped Priority Mail box.
This superb wartime Nazi Kriegsmarine Torpedoboot color print is **SOLD**
