The book starts out with a list of the
“Places Sacred to the National Socialist Movement” accompanied by large, clear photographs of them: the
Feldherrnhalle,
Braunes Haus, Königsplatz, the
Ehrentempel or Honor Temple for the fallen martyrs of the 1923
Putsch, as well as SS and SA formations, and more.
That setion is followed by suggestions of what to do and see during a
“Week in München”: museums, churches, theaters, the famous
Glockenspiel on the Marienplatz, the Hofbräuhaus beer hall, Oktoberfest, shopping, the zoo, Schloss Nymphenburg, etc. Opening days and hours are listed.
The section with suggested excursions outside of Munich has beautiful photographs of the
Reichsautobahn, Schloss Herrenchiemsee, Berchtesgaden, the Konigssee, the Zugspitze, Bad Tölz, people dressed in folklore outfits, Alpine scenery of the Allgäu and of course,
Garmisch-Partenkirchen and its
Olympic facilities (Rudolf Hess on skies!)
This softcover Third Reich book measures 8-1/4 x 10-3/4 inches, contains 116 heavily illustrated pages, and was published by Boris Spahn in Berlin.
The book is undated but was probably published around 1938, based on pictures of Riem Airport, Autobahn construction, etc. The internal pages are in very good condition, the cover shows some wear (see photo at the top of this USMBOOKS web page). No odor.
