This is a nice example of the big 8-1/4 x 11-5/8 inch, heavily illustrated 24 page guidebook to the festivities surrounding
Tag der deutschen Kunst of
Day of German Art held in Munich from 8 - 10 July 1938. Similar to the grand opening of the House of German Art festivities in 1937 but on a grander scale, the 1938 event included everything from Hitler's appearance to parading
Edelfrauen (Ideal Women) and Nazi sculpture, to Summer Night celebrations complete with 4th of July-like fireworks.
This is an official publication of the Nazi Leadership of the Day of German Art and includes a bit of information about the area around Munich and the Alps. It was especially printed for people coming from outside the Munich area specifically to attend the
Tag der deutschen Kunst. It was a much more costly and complex publication than the
smaller and less elaborate black & white booklet that was sold on the streets.
The upper left corner has some folds across it which do not detract in any real way from the images or information.
