NAZI EXPOSÉ OF ANTI-GERMAN BRITISH PRINT PROPAGANDA
The History Channel and even educated people today very often speak of Nazi propaganda in terms that would make one think that the Germans had an exclusive on the idea during World War II. In fact, it was the government of Britain that showed the Germans how propaganda worked. This excellent 6 x 8-3/8 inch, 32 page well-illustrated soft cover booklet bears the simple name Gift! (Poison!) and was published in 1940 or 1941 by the Central Publishing House of the NSDAP, Franz Eher Nachfolger in Berlin, Germany to explain enemy propaganda to the German people.
It begins by quoting famous Brits from Thomas Carlyle and Lord Northcliffe to Winston Churchill and even Shakespeare on the justification for lying on behalf of the country and then swearing to the lies.
Page after page is filled with British photos and invented war propaganda from the "cannibalistic" World War I troops of the Kaiser, to German soldiers allegedly burning and plundering the Citadel in Brest-Litovsk. There are British altered press photos printed alongside the originals with an explanation of how the altered photos were presented to the world press. A simple picture of a ship's cargo being unloaded bears the caption, "Coffee for Mr. Hitler's Personal Use, Intercepted by the British Blockade of Germany." Other photographs contrast British counterfeits of German Clothing Ration Coupons (complete with misspellings!) with the real thing. There are examples of spliced-together photographs, Roosevelt's lies and four different press versions of the fall of the Russian city of Kiev.
This booklet is Volume 12 of the series "Small War Booklets" which sold in Germany for 10 Pfennigs (4 US cents) during the Third Reich. Very historical material, in very good condition.
