This is Third Reich tourist advertising for the city of Passau in the Bayerische Ostmark. It is advertised as “one of the most beautifully situated cities in Germany”. The 3-7/8 x 8-1/4 inch (folds open to 7-1/4 x 8-1/4 inch) brochure was produced by the Verkehrsverein Passau eV. It is not dated but only from 1933 until 1942 was the district referred to as Bayerische Ostmark and was the swastika logo used.

The center of the brochure has a color map of the city that lies at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers near the Austrian border. Pictures show the St. Stephen's Cathedral with its onion domes (home of the biggest cathedral organ in the world with 17,974 pipes and 233 registers!) and Veste Oberhaus fortress, once the stronghold of the Bishop of Passau.

Very nice used condition with the stamp of a hotel on the front panel, exactly as shown.
