The September 1938 Parteitag Großdeutschland in Nürnberg was the last and most extravagant State Party Day held in Germany during the Third Reich. Reichsparteitag Grossdeutschland is widely recognized as one of the largest mass displays and public demonstrations of political will the world has ever seen, attended by German Chancellor Adolf Hitler and hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic National Socialists.

Produced by Raumbild-Verlag Otto Schönstein, Parteitag Großdeutschland is one of the rarest Nazi stereo photo books. It was published in 1939 with text by Heinrich Hansen, a foreword by Reichspressechef Dr. Otto Dietrich and photos by Professor Heinrich Hoffmann. The book is complete with all its 100 stereo photographs and Third Reich metal viewer. It also contains eight black card-stock pages with color images of famous view of medieval Nuremberg and the huge eagle and swastika monument at the Luitpold Arena on the Nazi Party Day Grounds (shown right).

This Nazi stereo photo book is among the rarest and most valuable of the dozen or so 3-D books produced to document NSDAP subjects during the Third Reich. The special red covers of this book are each about 1/2-inch thick and are die-cut with five cavities that hold 100 special Heinrich Hoffmann and Raumbild Verlag 3-dimensional stereo photographs (real photographs from negatives - NOT halftone prints) and the metal viewer with glass lenses that is set up to view the photographs.

The 100 stereo photographs each measure 2-3/8 x 5-1/8 inches, are numbered and have a full description of the subject printed on the back. When seen in the viewer, each picture is incredibly three-dimensional, almost as if the scene was being viewed in real life. No other photo process can give the viewer an equal feeling of actually "being there"; it is like sitting in the Haupttribune or grandstand on the Nazi Party Day Grounds and watching Hitler drive by!

There are photos of Adolf Hitler and Nazi dignitaries such as Field Marshal Hermann Göring, Rudolf Hess, Reichsführer-SS Himmler, Gauleiter Julius Streicher, Hitler Youth Leader Baldur von Schirach, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Reichsfrauenführerin Scholz-Klink, Reichsleiter Alfred Rosenberg, Konrad Henlein, Nürnberg Oberbürgermeister Liebel, Reichsleiter Karl Fiehler, as well as many Nazi Political Leaders, the LSSAH ("the favorite of the crowd" according to the text on the back of the photo), uniformed Japanese and Italian National Socialists, Hitler Youth members, RAD men and Wehrmacht soldiers on the Zeppelinwiese and marching through Nuremberg, Jakob Grimminger and the Nazi Blood Flag, SS men controlling huge crowds waving swastika flags, the SA tent camp, Hilfszug Bayern food trucks, etc., etc.

This rare 1939 Nazi 3-D photo book Parteitag Großdeutschland is hardbound in red with gold lettering on the cover and spine. It is complete with all color pictures and all 100 black & white 3D pictures, its metal viewer and even still has the rare original Nazi era Gebrauchsanweisung or instruction sheet on how to use the metal viewing glasses! Inside the front and back cover is the sticker of the original seller, the Walter Pestner bookstore in Leipzig.

This rare original example of Parteitag Großdeutschland is in very good, little-used condition, with only minor wear to the covers and GUARANTEED to be absolutely authentic historical Third Reich material nearly 80 years old.
