This Nazi art folio was for sale at the exhibition by the same name, Die Strassen Adolf Hitlers in der Kunst, which Fritz Todt organized in cooperation with the RKK Reichskammer der bildende Künste, as a way of making the construction of the Nazi freeway system well-known and popular with the German people.

The watercolor art by different eight German artists shows stretches of the Reichsautobahn, under construction and finished, between Munich and Salzburg, Nürnberg and Munich, Leipzig and Bayreuth, Frankfurt and Karlsruhe, including the famous Mangfall Brücke between Munich and Rosenheim that would open for traffic in January 1936 and is still in use today.

Complete with the frequently missing text insert written by Dr. Ing. Fritz Todt, and in very nice 82 year old condition. Very rare, we have never seen another complete one offered for sale!

Die Strassen Adolf Hitlers in der Kunst is a rarely seen fine art folio containing eight color prints depicting various scenes along the "Streets of Adolf Hitler", the Reichsautobahn.

The 100% original Third Reich folio measures 9 x 11-½ inches and was published by Volk und Reich Verlag of Berlin in 1936. It was commissioned by the Generalinspektor für das deutsche Strassenwesen, Dr. Ing. Fritz Todt, who (since 1933 by order of Adolf Hitler) was in charge of all highway construction in Germany including that of the Reichsautobahn system, the world's first real freeway system.

The artists included are Willi Geiger, Wilhelm Heise, Wilhelm Grunert, Carl Otto Müller,
Eberhard Schubert, Wilhelm Abel, Hans Neumann, and Fridhelm Sporn.
