Terramare Publications in Berlin specialized in the publication of booklets, essays and press releases in foreign languages, providing the public outside of Greater Germany the National Socialist view on subjects like Nazi foreign policy, economic policy, racial policy, compulsory labor, social welfare, education, culture, the place of women in German society, etc. Their office in was on Kronenstrasse 1, in the government quarter of Berlin.
This is a facsimile of the Terramare Publications No. 2 from 1938 containing Political Profiles of leading figures of the Third Reich, other than Hitler, men who were involved in “the astonishing recovery that has taken place since 1933” in Nazi Germany.
The short biographies of 26 leaders in the German National Socialist Party are in the English language and include Rudolf Hess, Hermann Göring, Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Dr. Hans Frank, Alfred Rosenberg, Philipp Bouhler, Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, Dr. Robert Ley, Baldur von Schirach, Joachim von Ribbentrop, Dr. Otto Meissner, Hanns Kerrl, Bernard Rust, Dr. Julius Dorpmüller, Dr. Wilhelm Frick, R. Walter Darré, Viktor Lutze, Count Schwerin von Krosigk, and others.
The text is by by National Socialist journalist and author Hans Heinz Sadila-Mantau and in the introduction he writes,"In Germany to-day Party and State are welded together in an indissoluble unity. The same idea finds various forms of expression in the various branches of organization. It is not that the Party serves the State or that the State serves the Party. Both serve the German nation as a whole, each in its own way. And so it comes about that National Socialism is the modern expression of the idea which was originally the inspiration of the democratic movement also but which the democratic movement departed from and even sometimes openly contradicted. This idea meant that the life of the State springs from the life of the people as a fountain from its source. All political and administrative organization, the constitution and even the State itself, are man's handiwork and will pass away and give place to others, as does the individual man himself. But the people is everlasting. To its welfare and its future all must be subordinated, the individual as well as the State. It is from this belief that the phenomenon has grown which is the hallmark of the New Germany, namely the absolute unity of ideas and opinions on all vital questions affecting the nation.”
Originally published in 1938, this is a hard-to-find 5-½ x 8-½ inch, 52-page postwar English language replica produced by Liberty Bell Publications many years ago. It is in very nice (unread?) condition and has no odor.
