This is a very nice Feldpostausgabe or Feldpost edition of Der Kilometerstein (The Kilometer Marker), a collection of humorous songs to be sung while marching or during evening get-togethers in the barracks.
This is the illustrated 7th expanded edition with music selections by Gustav Schulten, published by Ludwig Voggenreiter Verlag of Potsdam in 1941. The cover design (featuring Nazi soldier boots) and illustrations in the 4-3/8 x 6 inch, 256 page softcover book are by Heiner Rothfuchs.
A 77 year old Nazi soldier songbook in very nice condition, with its original - frequently missing - color dust jacket. We doubt it was ever used or sent to a Wehrmacht soldier!
The first 43 pages have marching songs, followed by sections with military life songs (to be sung while washing, peeling potatoes, during meals, etc.), barracks songs and festive evening songs. The book even contains a song called Die Entdeckung Amerikas (The Discovery of America - shown right) illustrated with American Indians!
This 1941 Feldpost Nazi soldier songbook is offered for sale
for $45.00 delivered by Media Mail in the continental USA.
