During World War II the Zentralverlag der NSDAP or Central Publishing House of the Nazi Party, published a series of Kleine Kriegsheften or Small War Booklets on many different military and political subjects, and they were always written for consumption by the common Landser or soldier.

Offered for sale on this USMBOOKS web page is an excellent booklet from the series published in 1940 called Sturm vor Englands Toren (Attack in Front of England's Gates). This 6 x 8-1/4 inch Kleine Kriegshefte number 4 contains 32 heavily illustrated pages telling the interesting story of the the successful 1940 Wehrmacht invasion of Holland, Belgium and France.

This Kleine Kriegshefte Nr. 4 also contains the lyrics to the song Morgenlied des Soldaten, a song written during the battle for Flanders in 1940. The back cover has a map of western France, the English Channel and southern England, showing that the Wehrmacht was indeed on England's doorstep!

This nearly 80 year old example of Sturm vor Englands Toren is in very good near-new condition. No odor.

Sturm vor Englands Toren starts with quotes by Generalfeldmarschall Göring about the superb training, commitment and courage of the German soldiers and their leaders that made victory a reality. There is also an excerpt from an OKW announcement dated 4 June 1940, when the battle of Flanders in Belgium was over. Chapters cover the quick defeat of the French Army, Nazi Fallschirmjäger or paratroopers taking Fort Eben Emael, Luftwaffe air battles with the RAF, Wehrmacht engineers, the importance of Wehrmacht tanks, Kriegsmarine ships in action on the English Channel coast, and Dunkirk.
