This is an excellent rarely encountered guidebook for
Sieghafte Deutsche Waffen, an exhibition of captured enemy weapons that took place on Heroes Square in Vienna, the second largest city in Nazi Germany, in 1940. It was part of the exhibition "
The Victory in the West" which was held in 1940 / 1941 for the benefit of
Kriegswinterhilfwerk.
The nicely printed softcover 8-1/2 x 9 inch, 24 page guidebook explains how Hitler has brought greatness to the Army of Ostmark once again and goes on to explain the history of soldiering in the old days and today. The Ostmark of course, had been a part of Germany for a long time and was allied with Germany in World War I. In 1938 the Ostmark voted for reunification with Hitler's Nazi Germany in the creation of Grossdeutschland.
The last part of the book explains the exhibition of "
The Victory in the West" and tells about the success of various arms of the Wehrmacht. The exhibition included everything from aircraft and vehicles to hand weapons. A rare book in very nice condition.
