VERY RARE NAZI STEREO PHOTO BOOK

This is an original example of the very rare Raumbild-Verlag Otto Schönstein stereo photo book Der Erste Großdeutsche Reichskriegertag (The First Greater-German State War Veteran's Day) held in Kassel, Germany in 1939. The book was published in 1939 by the NS-Reichskriegerbund with text by Otto Riebicke and photos by Professor Heinrich Hoffmann, Reichsbilderberichterstatter der NSDAP.
The book is complete with all of its 100 stereo photographs and the original Third Reich metal viewer, and even some rare original Third Reich instruction and advertising Raumbild leaflets (see picture at the end of this listing).

This Nazi stereo photo book der Erste Großdeutsche Reichskriegertag is among the rarest and most valuable of the dozen or so 3-D books produced to document NSDAP subjects during the Third Reich. The special grey-green covers of this book are each about 1/2-inch thick and are die-cut with five cavities that hold 100 special Heinrich Hoffmann and Raumbild Verlag 3-dimensional stereo photographs (REAL photographs from negatives - NOT halftone prints) and the metal viewer with glass lenses that is set up to view the photographs.
The original metal fold-up Raumbildbetrachter with glass lenses is also in very nice condition and the book comes with the original Third Reich instruction and advertising leaflets we show above as well.

This is the best example of the rare 1939 Raumbild book Der Erste Großdeutsche Reichskriegertag we have ever offered. It is complete and all the original Third Reich stereo photographs are in very good to excellent condition.
The book also contains eight black card-stock pages with color photos of the spectacular Nazi events in Kassel in 1939.
Each of the 100 stereo photographs measures 2-3/8 x 5-1/8 inches, are numbered, and have a full description of the subject printed on the back. When seen in the viewer each picture is incredibly three-dimensional; almost as if the scene was being viewed in real life. No other photo process can give the viewer an equal feeling of actually "being there".
