When we acquired this rare 85 year old ticket in Berlin, it came with a small 2-½ x 4 inch clipping service newspaper article from the Fränkischer Kurier of 10 September 1934. The text shows not only Adolf Hitler attended the 1934 Reichsparteitag, but another guest was American George Hearst, the oldest son of the famous American newspaper magnate. He attended the Appell of the SA and SS (schedule shown for reference below).
This is a very rare, 100% original ticket for a Nazi Party
Reichsleiter to attend the
Vorbeimarsch or march-past of Hitler by the
Reichsarbeitsdienst, the National Socialist Labor Service (RAD) that took place during the 1934 Nazi Party Days in Nuremberg on Thursday 6 September at 1:30 pm. The march-past was held in front of Hitler and the
Reichsleiters on Adolf Hitler Square (Adolf Hitler Platz) in downtown Nürnberg. In the
official guidebook of the 1934 Nazi Party Days we noted that the
RAD Vorbeimarsch or march-past followed a Hitler speech
(Es spricht der Führer) and was scheduled to be in front of Hitler and the
Reichsleiters and that it would take about 2 hours.
This 3-1/8 x 5-5/8 inch one-sided ticket is serial numbered 92 and was made non-transferable. Be sure to note the special purple letters
RL for
Reichsleiter in the middle of the ticket over the green Richard Klein designed logo for the 1934
Reichsparteitag, and note that it was for the personal use
(Persönlich!) of the
Reichsleiter that held it only.
Reichsleiter was the second highest political rank of the Nazi Party, next only to the office of
Der Führer, and they reported directly to Adolf Hitler. The list of
Reichsleiter is short (there were only about 20), but people with an interest in Third Reich history will recognize the names of Alfred Rosenberg, Heinrich Himmler, Rudolf Hess, Robert Ley, Martin Bormann, Philipp Bouhler, Karl Fiehler, Baldur von Schirach, Hans Frank, Otto Dietrich, Max Amann, Adolf Hühnlein, Wilhelm Frick, Franz Xavier Schwarz and Walther Darré, to name several.
This ticket had to have been issued TO A REICHSLEITER ONLY.
"Herr Hearst Junior" is said to be very impressed with the new Germany of Adolf Hitler, and his visit to Nuremberg had afforded him a "view inside the German Nation and its Youth."
The 6 September 1934 Vorbeimarsch des NS-Arbeitsdienstes ticket is in excellent original condition and could ONLY have been used by a Nazi Reichsleiter. The very rare newspaper article has handwritten notations on it and stamps from the clipping service as you can clearly see in our photos.
